I have been an adult cello student of Lisa's off and on for two years now. Over the years I have had several cello instructors and I find Lisa to be a very competent and accomplished instructor. My overall playing abilities have improved with Lisa's patient manner of instruction. She's never negative. Always positive.
After only a couple lessons, people I play with on a regular basis began to remark how my playing had improved in volume, clarity, and technicality. I know that even though I may come into a lesson with little to no practice the week before, I always get something out of the lesson, especially from a technical perspective.
Many times I have brought in music and Lisa always seems to simplify the difficult areas with advice on fingering and using different positions. I really enjoy it when Lisa plays her cello with me, it makes me sound so much better!

My daughter has been taking private lessons with Lisa since she was 7 (she's now nearly 15). Lisa has an amazing amount of patience with wiggly, distracted students. What amazes me the most, especially at the beginning, was that my daughter made those horrible screechy sounds on her violin. Lisa taught her the fundamentals so well, that once my daughter brought bow and violin together, she actually made music! My daughter bloomed under her careful and dedicated teaching.
